Sharp LC-22AD1E - Power supply
« on: February 07, 2011,11:30:10 »
Hi folks,

Just picked one of these up where in-lead power supply (13V 5A'ish) with a rather strange output plug, was missing.

Poked about inside the set and some alternative wired in solution seems possible

Anyone tried a standard 12V (also note there are lots of really cheap Toshiba 15V 5A laptop power supplies on Ebay at the moment - had to buy one for a Panasonic TX15LT2 recently)

13V supplies seem like Turkey teeth - Chris.

hi chris not that this is ideal but i bought my kids a cheap universal adaptor from ebay and upon measuring on a 9v setting this adaptor was pushing just over 13v on a 12v setting it was pushing nearly 18v ??

Hi Sparky,

Going by price, most everything on CHS is rather special and well above the pocket of my sort'a customer. Think to try as D/J suggests and try a variable S/M 5A adaptor.

Thanks - Chris.

Hi Sparky,

Guess you're right - have checked some similar Sharp manuals and notice a +5 and such. Going for the manual - Thanks - Chris.

Hi Chris, i think I may have the power supply you require! There are 3 x 13v outputs. 1@3.6A & 2 @ 1.5A. E-mail me if you want it & we'll come to some arrangement. Doug.

Hi Dougc and many thanks,

Initially trying to get this set going for a groat as it's a recycling special and local folks know that 'Analogue World' ends in Norfolk before this next Crimble.

Large screen sets are often Sky, Freesat or PVR driven, small ones usually as kitchen/bedroom sets are not -  so although big Analogue is still relatively cool, anything less than 32" Analogue, you can't give away.

I blame the Interweb, and that Tory 'Big Society' (with no actual cash released to the proles)  - Chris
