Samsung LE32S86BDX
« on: March 15, 2011,08:42:43 »
Hello Group,
This set is dead with the standby led not changing from red.
It uses the BN44 00191A power supply board and the BN41 00879B signals board. I
have fitted a p/s kit (CM856,CM858,CM861,CM860,CB852),but still no signs of
live.I have also changed the eeprom (IC3208 - 24C256).
If I disconnect the small plug from the power supply board to the signals board, the backlights light up.This plug has B/L  ON/OFF - A/D - P/D - GND - 24V DET.Has anyone a circuit for this set or any sugestions.
Best regards Ian Harrison(Sound and Vision)

Hello there,

It's probably the board software still causing the problem,
but you'll need a service RS232 cable, with a stereo jack plug,
the ATV (Micon) and DTV Firmware, the Flash Downloader v5.1
and DTV Upgrader SV2-V07 utility to re-write it, and the there's
no guarantee this will fix it.

It's probably going to be a board replacement job.

Thanks John,
I thought it might be a board replacement.
Has anyone got a working BN41 00879B board at a sensible price.
Thanks Ian Harrison (Sound and Vision)

Hi,

This board is used in several different size sets, and I am guessing all with different firmware, and I don't know if settings can be changed in the service mode! check the number BN94-xxxxxx, this is more specific to set size. I am trying to get one for a 26" set, has the same BN41 number but a different BN94 number. Be careful or you may end up with the wrong board! Hope that all makes sense, it is early!!
CHS do new boards for about £170 !!!!

Hello Keith,
Thanks for the advise, I will check the BN94 number and re-post.
I may get lucky.
All the best Ian.
