Hi Andy,
Your last but one entry, I'm ever confused, 'Heribots' could be us, if we only knew what they are- Chris
E Parton:
Hi again ..
I have to admit to being a little confused as to Andys answer ..
But I do acknowledge we all have to make a living ...and no I don't work for free ..
Its just this one issue on which we disagree ..
I also acknowledge that Andy provides a useful and fair priced service with the kits he sources and makes up ..A service many do benefit from..
Keep up the good work m8..
But the intelectual property within the chip is owned by the producer and company badging the product.
I'd rather make that available for free ..so as to protect myself from repercussions ..as I don't profit from it.
And I like to think its a way of getting back at big business retailers of cheap nasty products..
..and there I shall leave it ..
Said my piece ..but each to their own.
Certainly don't want to fall out with anyone over it..

Ohm Supplies:
Chris.
Sometimes I'm on my phone, the predictive text can kick in after I've spelt a word.why predictive text has words that don't make sence is anyone's guess. I meant i'll answer on here, not in an email (or sell the answer as a down load)
Let's say we copy an eeprom (there are several people who work at ohm) we post it on here.that's fine, it took a few moments etc & only an engineer would be able.to use the dump.
If its a set that we need something like the eeprom off we might buy one say for £50 & copy it. We loose money.
We don't need to sell the downloads, we could just send out the programmed chips, a bit like the record industry did with cds until of course until they realised they could sell the download. It's something we've only started to do in the last month or so
As you say its cheaper than posting.
The content of the dump isn't as far as I can see copyright if the content isn't the same as the original program, it might also be worth remembering that some people copy the contentents of our kits and post on here.I don't complain about it aes its not our backer, its info.
I do object to some of our service info being posted on here but that's for a different reason, I do however encourage it to be passed around.
I'll take your points of view on board & have a talk about it with the others. It is a good idea to log in before you look at a price. Some of the none logged in prices are deliberately high for what I think are very good reasons
Regards
Andy
E Parton:
