Can someone talk me through how to update the firmware as this set has no usb socket so do i remove u13 and use a seperate  programer the issue with this set is dvd works fine plays sound and has picture etc but freeview only has sound (no picture) and will not tune or change channels just remains on 0 percent i have tried a factory reset still no joy.

yes you will need a stand alone program that can handle MX25L4005A chips
sadly I do not have one but maybe some one here does that you can remove the chip and post it to
then have it posed back to you I guess for a small fee

do you think it will do the job are the chips easy to program? cheers again

it is in the chip list so should do ok
as long as you get the software to use with it

yes it has all the software hes going to find it out for me to borrow the tv is actually a neighbours they use it in there caravan etc do you think it will fix the fault as described in my above post basically dvd works 100% fine sound and picture very good but when you try to tune dtv in it stays at 0% also as its tuned in to a channel already it only has sound no picture the menu screen shows ok and stays on screen etc its like the dtv has got corrupted somehow will the dump fix this in your opinion?

this has only just came this morning so havnt tried it yet, do i just down load the link you gave me and unzip it which files do i choose to re add to the chip (sorry about all the questions first time ive tried to re programe these chips etc)

depending on which programmer you purchashed? have a look at that youtube link i sent he tells you how to change the language to english ive just installed it on a windows 7 laptop and seems ok says connected now etc in the you tube link he has put the software download link live again so i used his software you will see my question in the comments asking him i will unsolder the chip on the tv tomorrow and try it can you advise about unzipping the file i downloaded the bin file from in not sure which i have to add back to the chip? cheers again
