Akura ABLDVD2626W-HDID no sound CV109H V1.2 board
« on: July 03, 2012,14:40:32 »
Hi All,

Got a couple of these TVs which have a quiet clicking sound coming from the speakers. The board is a CV109H V1.2 & the audio IC is a TPA3123D2. The 24V supply is OK, no caps look bulgy either. This IC is a SMT one & is difficult to probe around so I am hoping this is a replace component X type fault. Any ideas?

Did you ever find the cure to this problem?

I have one of these Akura TV's doing exactly the same, no sound just a clicking coming from the speakers, so it appears to be a common fault judging by my searches, I have found similar reports but as yet no answers to the problem.

[EDIT]

Sorry, scrap that, FIXITNOW was correct, it is the L5 & L6 chokes. In my case, only L5 which looked slightly browned compared to L6 next to it. I removed L6 from the logic board and without a new part, retested the TV with the damaged L5 out and the sound came back but of-course only through one channel. I'm sure as soon as I get a new choke, the sound will be restored to both channels.

Only problem is, I don't know what the value of the part is, the link above to Akura support is dead.

Hi drh,

Why not check inductance of the good one and use something similar from scrap ? - LCR meters are pretty cheap these days.

Good Luck - Chris.
