Samsung LE40R88BDX

I've got no sound on this set although headphones are working. Customer was using headphones and when he removed them, there was no sound. The on screen volume control has a headphone logo so I think its stuck in headphone mode although there is no setting to turn speakers off. Most of the sound settings are 'greyed out'. I've tried a service reset and replaced the eeprom. Headphone skt seems okay as headphones can be taken out and in okay. Any ideas or is it a new panel. Tx

Hi,

I think you will find there are some switching contacts inside the headphone socket. A squirt of WD40 into the socket might help. I has a similar fault a while ago, can't remember model though! I actually removed the headphone socket, stripped it down and cleaned it.

I told the customer to buy a MP3 type amp and I coupled that up for him.
