Hi folks,

Have one of these in with pretty severe solarisation. Suspect it's the T-con, but not totally sure. Wonder if there's an easy mend for the panel - Note a chap on the Flea does it for a price.

Any thoughts ? - Thanks - Chris.

Hi Shaun, and thanks,

Like your idea using paper - not yet tried. Usually use a glass fibre pencil for such things, really great with those horrible long audio slide switches if spray doesn't do the biz, and GF is fairly gentle.

Will give it a go. Was uncertain, for had it been a Neon or Cello, would prob have been a corrupted mainboard Eeprom, and Sammy Eeproms are known for problems when the PS caps are doubtful.

Thanks again - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Typically a gamma chip fault. Does it have our old friend, the AS15 chip on the T-con?
Could also be bent options in the eeprom, like wrong screen size. Ever hopeful....
