Hi Bruce,
Absolutely right again - An AS15-G chip lurking on the t-con - Thanks - Chris.
PS - And they're cheap at a quid, just a bother to change without wreaking the print.

Hi Chris,
Thought you were more fastidious than that....."wreaking the print"......or have you partaken of the turnip wine again. And you actually edited your post.
However, I do agree, especially those that had a copper pad on the underside of the IC. Recently tried to remove one on an el-cheapo brand where I had to apply so much heat that the surrounds of the chip were totally demolished. But, trying as always to earn the needy moolah.

Hi think emos do a repair service
Turnip:
Hi Bruce and Sparky,
'Natch I meant reeking havoc print-wise, but confess had the spell thingy turned orf. Note that chap of Flea mends them but will check Emos - Thanks again - Chris.
PS - Hope not a copper pad, last one I had was on a Pure One Mini, where managed to get the miniscule audio chip off OK, but no way could re-solder the pad, even with LMP solder and several print-through holes. Other problem in that case was the 8 pins didn't extend from the underside of the chip, so not sure if I'd got at them at all - Fun though.
Much later - Got the chip for 99p and of course it has the heat sink pad, so doubt I can sort it without serious gear, as guess needs 300+C to get it off the panel using Lead Free solder, as can't float LMP under the chip to free it.
Think to check out serious gear, but as only have a few such per year, and the panels are all of different dimensions, guess would take some time to make a profit, unless I stick to T-cons using this notorious chip.
Think bite the bullet this time, get a good T-con from The Flea, and make only a modest profit, even though the thought of £30+ for a T-con mend still seems attractive.

Hello Sparks,
We don't have emos over here in the antipodes. We do have emus, however. Not sure if they have any talents, though. Bruce
