kennyc:
Hi guys it was the main board . Only clue was that there are 4 diodes in parrallel on the power supply and they read 28V on them . Hope it may help if any of you gets same fault. Thanks for your help

Turnip:
Hi Keith, and thanks.

The thought of removing the chip, then trying read it in the clip, then replace it is horrid indeed.

Note there are cheap packs of headers available to solder the chip to read using EZP2010 or similar, but the whole business seems rather time consuming and messy just to copy data when the clip seems to do it in circuit, if you can get it on straight - find usually takes at least ten tries and a wiggle.

Tend to think that if you get a bin that looks the biz, it might well be the biz, but admit have small experience yet in programming new devices - Not so surprised that folks go for a board from the Flea, if can get all the dozens of options correct - Chris.

Hi Chris,

Sounds like it's time to abstain from that Turnip wine.

Would help in focusing the peepers and steadying the hand.

Turnip:
Hi Bruce,

It's a thought, but I never consume the Turnips whilst into Eeproms - Recall some years ago, when I had grown some really fine stuff, I wasted an entire morning considering a tubed TV problem from different angles, but couldn't quite come to any useful conclusion - Fun though.

Thought is - Keith feels that Eeproms need to be removed for data capture, whereas I seem to get data using the clip with chip in situ, but not at all sure if it's accurate as have yet only re-programmed a few but with some success.

Some folks seem to feel that to read or re-programme, the chip needs to be off the board, either in the crap clip provided, where it jumps about a bit, or soldered to a PCB header - where it doesn't, but it's fiddly biz, so just wanted thoughts from folks who've done quite a few - Chris.
