My tv repairer has fixed some faults that i wanted done but in the process  now has another problem where the sound and brightness goes from 0 to full with nothing inbetween .The set has had its battary replaced as part of the work  .It is  Ferguson Tx 51A3 .It is puzzeling him so i thought i would ask for help.

you will have to go into service mode to set up
cannot remember the red,green,blue,or yellow
buttons to press in what order  sorry try and
find service manual

Hi,

Being a few days older than Sparky, I seem to recall the backup Nicad drooled down the vertical control panel LHS and corroded most everything beneath - perhaps a modern LCD could be an easier option and would save finding screen clips - Chris

Hi, Can't remember the colours but to enter menu . Coloured buttons from left to right 1>2>4>3. Hope this makes sense, Doug

No coloured buttons, 51A3 is pre Fastext.

To OP do the manual controls on the set work? it sounds like you have a memory problem, to store the settings you need to press the normalise store on the front of the set.
