Turnip:
Hi Bruce,
Impressed as ever,
Have a whole heap of tubes from screen smashes where length and diameter are carefully noted.
Admit have had sharp tube problems and used anything handy, modifying the end bits to suit.
Made the pound - Chris le Turnip - well, i'm sorta' masculine, still.
Guess one can never trust an Aussie as to gender, for some reason - Chris
downunder:
Oops, sorry for the faux pas, le Turnip, didn't intend to cast aspersions on your gender, but in this neck of the woods French lingo is a worthless commodity.
One of the aboriginal languages, Pitjantjatjara, is more useful. At least I speak English.
I,ve read of your exploits with backlight adaptation. A tad hair-raising I admit, but as long as it brings in the needy pound (perhaps for the needy turnip).
Turnip:
Hi Bruce,
You have me there, but suggest you don't ignore French - totally.
Anglophiles suggest the french have something, like 'Le Upper Cut' which is truly 'gallic' in some respects.
Wikky suggests Garlic, which I prefer.
As to backlight tubes, I tend to fit those that I have, maybe have to twiddle the ends a bit - but makes the needy pound where genuine replacements would be daft.
Kai-ora - Chris.
downunder:
I remember years ago twiddling pots.....Nah, we'll Spooner out of this one.
