Hi,
The black spot looks like screen damage, the others look the same too, as for the black spot I had something like that on a battery TV, dunno what it was it was in the panel, water, compression damage..... these things are usually on on of the corners.

HI Evan,
Your symptoms indicate that the OTC-supply may be coming on faster than the FBX-supply. At switch-on, the OTC is initialised along with all it's IC2 address to see which components are present. If the FBX is not present at this point due to a slow start, the OTC concludes there is no FBX and sends the set into protect.

A Philips service bulletin suggest the following mod:
On Aux power supply, replace positions 3031 and 3032 with a 27K 5W resistor. So you remove 3031 and 3032 and place this new resistor on posn
3028.
Replace 2002 with a 330u 25V elco and 2003 with a 680u 25V elco. Hope that helps,  Bruce

Hi, not sure if this is same fault, but for anyone searching this model, if you warm up the  back of the TV near the top and it starts up ok,  then there's a stock fault  that is fixed by changing the value of a resistor on the PSU board. Don't have details at hand, but will try to dig them out if you pm me.

Hi, i'm looking for a 17MB12-2 dump for a 26" (Bush IDLCD26TV27HD - although any 26" will do).

I'd appreciate any help, or alternative dump suggestions.

Thanks,

Rory

It would be nice to know if tv was still working after replacing the backlights

Excellent! yes, one tardy LED is enough to induce the problem. I reckon you've got it licked.

Hi Bruce,

I replaced the Power board, but to my luck, the replacement P. board only lasted for two days, after which, it completely went out. This time, the red stand-by light also disappeared (this wasn't an issue with the original board). So, I re-installed the original power board for time being.

I replaced the old backlights with a new set. I did carry out a test on the old backlights, they were all working, but, one of the LED, even though, it lit-up, but had a few nano-second delay (nano second flickering). Let's see, if this new set of backlights resolve this issue, at least, now I can rule out the Power-board and the backlights.

Thank you for your reply and help. You have been very helpful!

I don't have the service manual for that model - doubt it would have the psu schematic anyway. Standby is mostly generated by a small 8 pin IC next to a small transformer, usually supplied by a small bridge rectifier connected permanently to the mains.                Bruce
